The Supplier Assurance organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical supplier engineering role within the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in the Texas Area, supporting Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile (HACM).  The Senior Supplier Engineer will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products.

You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier’s technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve the manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

This position entails assignment as a Senior Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer in the Dallas, Texas region of the US and is remote. Visits to local Supplier facilities will be required and will require a home office be maintained. Candidates are expected to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, to include driving up to 300-mile radius with some flying as needed.

What you will do:

  • Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support travel as needed, minimum 60% (see above)

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Relevant experience is work in manufacturing engineering, supplier engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, hardware engineering, electrical engineering and/or supplier quality.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

                                    

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with typical hardware product documentation types (part and assembly drawings, parts lists, schematics, specifications, source control drawings, etc.) 
  • Proficient in current TDP and Configuration Management-related protocols 
  • Familiar with product structuring, linkage within PDM Windchill 
  • Familiar with 3D model types such as Creo, STP, IGS 
  • Familiar with CCA TDP construct, drawings and models and PWB artwork 
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, purchase orders, requisitions, Mfg Bill of Materials (MBOM), material masters, purchase requisitions.
