At Accurus Aerospace Corporation, we make things ready for flight. We deliver our high-quality aerostructures products to our customers on time and our strategy is designed to meet our customers' needs. We machine aluminum alloys and hard and exotic metals, fabricate sub-assemblies, deliver kits, and provide processing services, including anodizing, chem-film, shot-peening, priming and finish treatments to our global customers. We are a supplier to numerous Commercial Aerospace and Defense Contractors throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
A Maintenance Intern will assist with maintaining tools, parts inventory, and maintenance logs, while helping to keep work areas clean and organized. You will support equipment inspections, safety checks, and participate in the documentation of maintenance procedures and equipment manuals. Interns work a minimum of twelve (12) hours per week during standard office hours, typically in regularly scheduled blocks of at least three (3) hours each. During short-term scheduled school holiday and semester breaks, interns may be authorized for up to forty (40) hours per work week.
Interns can expect to gain experience with communication (technical, presentation, and professional interpersonal), problem-solving, CNC Machining process, Inventory and Data Management, Procurement & Supply chain processes, ERP utilization, aerospace industry standards (AS9100), and general manufacturing and quality management systems.
This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):

• An individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), or
• An individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

• Help maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance logs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas
• Support documentation of maintenance procedures and updates to equipment manuals
• Assist with equipment inspections and safety checks
• Shadow technicians and learn standard operating procedures for maintenance tasks
• Participate in safety committee meetings
• Follows all safety policies and procedures; consistently utilizes all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Performs other tasks and/or assignments as required
• Regular attendance on site at the workplace is required
Required Education
• Maintenance Interns must be actively enrolled in pursuit of an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline at an accredited college or university.
• Student overall GPA of 2.5 or higher, and in-major GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred
Work Experience
Relevant work experience is not required; however, candidates with familiarity or work/internship experience in aerospace manufacturing, machine shop, or other metal manufacturing industry are preferred.
Other Required Skills and Abilities
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
• Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, sit for long periods to perform job duties
• Occasionally lift, carry (short-distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material handling equipment
• Occasionally reach overhead and reach out or down to floor level to perform duties
• Occasionally climb steps, stairs, or ladders
• Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
• Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts and operate computer and peripheral equipment
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a combination of office setting and manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
• Excessive noise - hearing protection required (occasionally)
• Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors
