National Grid is hiring a Manager, Asset Strategy & Design for its Electrical Planning & Design division in Northborough, Mass. This is a hybrid position with office visits at least 1-2 times a week, sometimes more, plus storm duty.. US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont).
Job Purpose
To lead the New England Asset Registry and Systems team, ensuring an accurate registry of assets in a reliable database. The team is responsible for developing and deploying the company’s data management framework for improving data quality, cleanliness, timeliness, and accessibility across the electric business; working alongside business stakeholders providing support and guidance.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a professional high-performance work team to ensure results are delivered in line with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Champion an information culture that recognizes data as a key asset that directly enables outperformance.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of company reliability performance to internal and external stakeholders; the most notable external stakeholder being the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Included is the timely and accurate support of regulatory filings and response to regulatory information requests.
- Support the effective maintenance of substation equipment by ensuring that the Cascade system is properly administrated, ensuring the timely and accurate entry and update of substation equipment data and test results, as well as creation and maintenance of substation maintenance work orders. Accuracy of information in this system is critical to ensuring compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and applicable Substation Maintenance Standards/Procedures.
- Work with other functional teams across National Grid to deliver insights, as well as drive consistency and sharing of reliability analytics best practice.
- Anticipated future growth of this department could include broadened datasets and systems and is expected to include the leading of the definition, delivery and implementation of a data management framework to enable and assure risk-based asset management decisions.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Demonstrated leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal initiative and ability to interact internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical major including engineering, information systems or related area.
- 5 to 7+ years of business experience with proven stakeholder management skills/expertise.
- Ability to “create the future” to deliver new capabilities and efficiencies in response to the ever-evolving utility landscape.
- Demonstrated experience of people management, change management and financial management.
- Knowledge of/or demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn industry, regulatory and company reliability concepts and standards.

Salary: $155,000 - $182,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
