Salary: Salary range is between $113,750-$136,250 and placement is based on prior professional and leadership experience

About the Role: For the 2025-2026 school year, Valor Collegiate Academies is seeking an experienced and dynamic Managing Director of Operations who is excited to share our mission of empowering scholars to live inspired and purposeful lives. 

As the Managing Director of Operations, you will oversee the school-based operations teams across Valor’s three schools: Valor Flagship (middle school), Valor Voyager (middle school), and Valor College Prep (high school). In this role, you will primarily focus on coaching and developing our school operations leaders. Success in this role requires a strong systems thinker with experience in people management and vendor relationship oversight. Serving as the face of school operations, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach and develop our three Directors of Operations to ensure operational excellence and alignment with organizational priorities, while fostering their professional growth and capacity to support fast-paced and high-performing school teams.
• Manage critical school-based vendor relationships, including transportation, food service, substitute staffing, and other school-based services, ensuring high quality service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational needs.
• Develop, refine, and scale school operations systems, such as ticketing platforms, meeting coordination tools, and workflow processes, to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all campuses.
• Collaborate with True North Team (the central office team) to support school-based operations, ensuring alignment with broader operational goals and delivering exceptional service to schools. 
• Oversee and guide the implementation of a comprehensive school health strategy, ensuring student and staff wellbeing while maintaining compliance with local and state health regulations.
• Manage state and local compliance for school operations, including safety drills, MNPS  reporting, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, with a focus on mitigating risks and ensuring a safe environment for students and staff.
• Address and manage daily operational requests for the True North Team, coordinating resources and processes to enable effective central office operations.
• Direct the daily management of student transportation systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency while resolving operational challenges and improving service delivery.

Critical Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience in school operations, with minimum of 5 years experience managing and coaching people
• Strong understanding of school operations compliance 
• Familiarity and experience with school operations best practices
• Knowledge of using dashboards and data trackers to make data-driven decision making
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in GoogleSuite and specifically Google Sheets
• Ability to have a systems-thinking approach to identify patterns, streamline processes, and ensure alignment between organizational goals and daily operations.
• Utilizes data effectively to inform decisions, set priorities, and measure progress toward goals
