Job Summary:
This role develops and leads brand and marketing (B2B and B2C) and member communication strategy and implementation to meet business goals.
Essential Job Duties:
Leadership:
- Liaise with HR and OD to recruit, onboard, and retain high-quality staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Effectively coaches, mentors, motivates, and manages the staff to ensure delivery of communications to employees in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining the Credit Union’s high standard of quality.
- Ensures that the Marketing department fosters a productive, rewarding work environment that provides for the development of employees; meets all established goals and metrics; and operates within the Credit Union’s core values.
Main responsibilities:
- Leads marketing and business development (B2B and B2C) across acquisition, member retention and engagement, martech / marketing analytics and marketing operations to meet SLFCU’s business goals.
- Develop a marketing plan, including targeting / segmentation, media planning, creative assets, marketing messages, promotions and advertising, website development and management, SEO, market research and analytics / tracking to drive accelerated growth through acquisition and retention.
- Oversee budgeting, competitor analysis and research, and implementation of new trends in marketing and the credit union industry.
- Participate in the Credit Union’s strategic planning process and collaborates to help shape the retail and digital experience for members.
- Develop and deliver compelling, go-to-market strategies that grow membership, deposits and loans.
- Oversee the development of effective, results-driven marketing campaigns through traditional and digital media (paid and own channels) to educate members on the benefits of Credit Union products and services and to drive net member growth and increased products / service adoption and usage.
- Collaborate closely with all business units offering marketing and business development counsel, expertise and support for all appropriate initiatives.
- Own and manage branding through all channels, ensuring consistent and effective brand expression through all touch points, including advertising, member communications, the website, online and mobile services, internal communications and office design.
- Develop a data analytics competency within the Marketing Department to drive marketplace and member data analysis, trend identification and related actions. They partner with the data analytics team on governance and best practices. They develop a marketing dashboard and define goals and metrics to analyze and report on the RO. of marketing initiatives.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Familiar and comfortable with information technology, particularly digital means of communication.
- Strong organizational skills in managing multiple initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of statistical analysis/tools.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a marketing management position with a minimum of 5 years in direct leadership, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or certification in marketing, business administration, or related field, or more than 10 years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
