We are looking for a Bioinformatics Associate, Prenatal to join our Clinical Operations team to create computational tools to analyze groundbreaking molecule diagnostics. This person will be responsible for developing bioinformatics pipelines and analyzing next-generation DNA sequencing data under the guidance of bioinformatics scientists.

This is a dynamic, start-up environment that requires adaptability and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. The Bioinformatics Associate role is a full-time onsite position in Menlo Park, CA and reports to the Sr. Manager of Bioinformatics. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sophisticated and robust next-generation sequencing analysis pipelines under the guidance of a senior scientist
  • Perform analysis of clinical bioinformatics data
  • Assemble and analyze quality metrics from the clinical laboratory
  • Maintain analysis pipeline and operational tools using DevOps practices 
  • Collaborate with scientists and support new scientific insights

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Physics or related field
  • 1-2 years of biology research experience (either during BS/MS or afterwards)
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R or a similar language, especially with application to complex data processing and transformation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Coursework or experience with molecular biology laboratory techniques and human genetics
  • High mathematical and statistical aptitude
  • Great attention to detail

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Software Engineering experience, particularly with DevOps best practices
  • Experience with clinical laboratory operations
  • 1-2 years of research experience
  • Molecular biology (DNA purification, PCR, electrophoresis) or next-generation DNA sequencing laboratory experience

For this position, we offer a total compensation package of $101,305 per year, including a base pay range of $72,828 - $83,232 per year.
