What You’ll do
The Director, Business Transformation reports to the Head of Asset Service Operations to develop and execute the strategic initiatives of the services business. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking large teams on a journey through substantial changes in the business, as well as periodically making business as usual more efficient and productive. The ideal candidate will also keep a persistant pulse on the needs of renewable investors in the marketplace and will advise the business on how to position its skills, capabilities, and services to better serve client needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Projects
• Develop and establish implementation plans of key initiatives that position the services business for multiple dimensions of growth (assets under management, diversity of customers, new service lines, and new technologies).
• Create business plans for new service lines introduced by the business, including identification of key risks, skills gaps, and business capabilities that need to be developed. Coordinate the business start-up process for new service lines after market entry has been approved.
• Act as the representative for Americas Asset Services to the larger corporate project management organization to ensure strategic changes required by the global Lightsource bp are integrated into the Americas regional transformation plan.
• Develop and execute the change management framework in response to major corporate restructuring. Develop relationships, reporting structures, and processes between new teams that must begin working together, or between existing teams that must re-think their ways of working.
Joint Venture Governance
• Establish the governance and reporting framework for a group of operating assets jointly owned by internal and external investors, but operated by Lightsource bp. Coordinate the efforts of the operations team responsible for launching the joint venture.
• Perform various administrative duties required to operate the joint venture. Establish expectations and norms related to operational performance for internal and external investors, in coordination with the operations Portfolio Managers.
• Coordinate with the investor and Operational Readiness team to establish and enforce minimum standards for new assets accepted into the joint venture portfolio. The standards for asset acceptance should be aligned with investor expectations.
Process Optimization
• Coordinate with Americas operations and finance identify opportunities to improve performance, increase efficiency, and effectiveness of a growing portfolio of assets under management, with the goal of delivering world-class financial services to the Joint Venture.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to address gaps in the AssetCo service delivery model, particularly in the finance community. Highlight these gaps for the finance community to address.
• Learn best practices and provide process consulting to global Asset Services peers. Integrate with a network of like-minded change agents across global jurisdictions to ensure dissemination of learnings and best practices. Participate in the development of a “global way of working” that ensures common corporate processes are used in a manner that is rational for the joint venture.
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge
• Project Development and Asset Operations experience in the renewable energy market in an international and global environment
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and overall sound business judgement. Ability to direct the company's business strategies in the US marketplace.
• Proficient understanding of project management and transformational leadership
• Ability to design and communicate business strategic frameworks.
• Ability to align disparate stakeholders to implement new business strategies.
• Knowledge of the service contract sales process a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft suite; Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a technical, regulatory, or business related field.
