Director, Vertical AI Products & Platforms

The Role

Moderna seeks a Director, Vertical AI Products & Platforms, reporting to the VP, AI Products & Platforms. This role focuses on leading AI development and integration at Moderna, and aligning our AI roadmap and launches with business needs across Research, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Commerce. Responsibilities include collaborating with Digital Product Managers and senior leaders, ensuring AI strategies are technologically advanced and business-goal oriented. The role demands innovative and practical integration of Data & AI in business processes, contributing to Moderna's leadership in biotechnology and life science.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Develop AI product and platform strategies that align with Moderna's goals and enhance Digital Product Manager capabilities.

• Collaborate with Digital Product Managers to translate business needs into technical requirements, while managing dependencies

• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with our senior leaders to align AI Engineering initiatives with business strategies.

• Translate complex AI concepts into practical business solutions that improve business processes and decision-making to deliver innovative approaches in biotech

• Lead and coordinate multiple product and platform launches, ensuring timely and efficient delivery aligned with performance and value objectives.

• Oversee budget, capacity planning, and risk management to ensure efficient resource utilization and alignment with business objectives

• Foster a culture of constant discovery and innovation in AI product and platform development, with a focus on sustainable change management 

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Change Management, Computer Science or related fields

• 15+ years of experience in business strategy and technology go-to-market roles with strong exposure to Data & AI

• 5+ years of experience in a technology company, on roles focused on customer success or business transformation with Data & AI 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Change Management, Computer Science or related fields

• Extensive knowledge in AI and data-driven technologies, with a proven track record in leading AI-driven business transformation

• Familiarity with biotech industry’s research, manufacturing, commercial and regulatory environments

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, excellent executive communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description.  Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $144,000 to $230,500 ​. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.  Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
