About the role

Job Summary: 
The SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of SCCM infrastructure. This role involves deploying and maintaining software applications, updates, and operating systems across the organization, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure. The SCCM Engineer will also troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SCCM and work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of IT systems. This is a 6 month contract to hire and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

  • SCCM Infrastructure Management:
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain SCCM infrastructure.
  • Manage SCCM site servers, distribution points, and management points.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the SCCM environment.
  • Software Deployment and Management:
  • Develop and deploy software packages and updates using SCCM.
  • Create and manage deployment collections, task sequences, and application deployments.
  • Ensure successful software distribution and troubleshoot any deployment issues.
  • Operating System Deployment (OSD):
  • Create and maintain OSD task sequences for deploying operating systems.
  • Customize and optimize OS images for deployment across various hardware platforms.
  • Ensure smooth and consistent OS deployment processes.
  • Patch Management:
  • Develop and implement patch management strategies using SCCM.
  • Deploy security patches and updates to servers and workstations.
  • Monitor and report on patch compliance and address any patching issues.
  • Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Implement security measures to protect SCCM infrastructure and endpoints.
  • Perform regular audits and generate compliance reports.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SCCM-related issues.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of SCCM configurations and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest SCCM features, updates, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to overall IT strategy.
