Sr. Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and IT products through their entire life cycle for our government customer. The ideal candidate will work in a challenging environment on a program supporting the U.S. Air Force. The candidate will deliver technical solutions-based around system planning and design to ensure solutions comply with customer requirements and government standards.

 

What you'll do:

• Manages and monitors installed systems and infrastructure for the organization.
• Develop detailed work instructions and implementation requirements based on standards, procedures, and industry best practices related to the overall product development.
• Translate high-level IT product development strategies into system requirement specifications.
• Documents complex procedures and complex troubleshooting procedures related to systems, networks, hardware, and software
• Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
• Plans and implements system automation as required for better efficiency.
• Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within the organizational guidelines, policies and procedures, industry standards, and government specifications.

Qualifications

What you'll need:

• 8 years with BS/BA or 6 years with MS/MA or 3 years with PhD in lieu of degree, 12 years of applicable work or military experience would be acceptable
• Must be U.S. Citizen and hold an Active/Current DoD Secret clearance.
• Must hold active CompTIA Security + or higher (DOD 8570 equivalent)
• Experience with Windows AD, DNS, and effective implementation of GPO’s
• Must have PowerShell scripting experience to automate operational task

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and operating enterprise level solutions for large organizations
• Experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux OS
• Exceptional understanding of Networking technologies, including security and monitoring aspects
• Experience with ESXi, VCenter, iDRAC, and other software-defined networking technologies
• Experience with Raritan devices, CCSG, KVM, PDU
• Experience with configuring/hardening applications and devices using STIG and SCAP tools
• Experience with documentation steps and procedures to junior technicians

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
