Hockey Coordinator, GPIPay Details:
The starting hourly rate for this position is $27.00 per hour.This position supports and assists the management, development, and implementation of Adult and Youth hockey programming in a manner supportive of The Rinks objectives as outlined in the Mission Statement. This includes promoting and administering hockey leagues and programs, clinics, leagues, and grassroots programs in an on-ice and off-ice role and other duties as assigned.
This position requires high-level league management, organizational skills, a practical approach to on-ice presence for large groups, and an adept understanding of USA Hockey development, rules, and league formats.
Responsibilities
Program Administration
As directed by Hockey Manager and Hockey Director, organize and promote adult and youth hockey programs
Oversee Adult Hockey initiatives and Youth Try Hockey initiatives (subject to change as business needs change)
Oversee/Manage program registration process and administration of game schedules
Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule
Oversee and ensure league parity and safe play
Be present for games, player check-in, and other meetings as needed
Hold captain’s meetings as needed for each division/season
Coordinate with the head of referees regarding any league issues and scheduling
Lead the Hockey Clinics and grassroot initiative programs and assume primary responsibility for class scheduling, curriculum, and instructional coverage
Assist and coordinate all youth hockey events, leagues, clinics and camps as needed as directed by the Hockey Director/ Hockey Manager, including set up and tear down for event check-in and on ice set up as needed
Adult Hockey
Learn to Play Hockey: Assist with check-in and gear fitting, organize practice plan, lead coach, instruct on rink session with support coaches
After each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players
Rookie Clinics: Responsible for preparing and implementing a practice plan for each session, communicating the plan to support coaches, and engaging with participants before and after each session
Rookie League: Responsible for registration and jersey distribution, run on-ice tryouts, draft players, organize clinics and assist players with league development and next steps
Adult Clinics: Organize and implement an on-ice practice plan and communicate with support staff
Ensure participants are engaged/having fun/learning during Clinics/Practices
Be available/accessible to answer questions as needed
Youth Hockey
Rec League Practices and Games: Responsible for check-in and be present for all hockey events and games
Be available/accessible to answer questions during other Hockey training
This position will oversee Youth leagues, Hockey Initiations, and Learn to Play Hockey, Little Ducks, and other grassroot hockey initiatives. (subject to change as business needs change)
On-Ice:
