Role Overview:
Member of the Agent Accounting and Tax Team within the Field Operations Value Stream. This team is responsible for the agent ledger and tax withholding accounts, which include over 18 million transactions for approximately $12 billion processing on an annual basis as well as the income tax reporting for all our agents. This includes W-2, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and 1099-R tax reporting. This position is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the agent ledger and tax withholding accounts on a daily and monthly basis. In addition, this position will help with the efforts to test and plan for the annual tax reporting coordination project.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor agent ledger and tax withholding accounts for differences. Research differences, seek guidance on the appropriate actions necessary for correction, and take necessary corrective action. Be alert for trends.
- Assist with the agent wage and tax reporting process by assembling an appropriate in-depth test plan and reviewing wage and tax reports.
- Attend interdepartmental tax form coordination meetings to gain an understanding of the process.
- Participate in the year-end production of tax forms.
- Research and sensitively respond to agent inquiries regarding income and tax withholding in a timely fashion.
- Document their understanding of processes, update current procedures, and seek process improvements.
- Participate in all other tax-related projects determined by management.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- Accounting knowledge as well as the ability to develop a knowledge of accounting and ledger systems.
- Experience in different system interfaces, including SAP accounting, SAP payroll, GDS treasury, multiple agent contract systems, and vendor interfaces.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $50,000-$72,000
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
