About the Role - 

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join as a key member of our fast-paced and close-knit Corporate Finance team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of many critical strategic decisions and drive financial forecasting, business planning, and strategic analysis. You will have regular dialogue with key internal stakeholders, including our executive team cross-functional business partners, and influence key aspects of our external narrative with investors and our board. About the Team - 

Corporate Finance is an integral partner to Instacart's executive team, providing holistic perspectives that inform critical business decisions and capital allocation. We serve as the central hub for forecasting, performance tracking, budgeting, and financial trajectory management. We collaborate closely across the company to achieve Instacart’s short and long term objectives.

 

About the Job 

  • Drive forecast cycle and key financial processes, including monthly forecasting, quarterly and annual financial target and goal setting, bi-annual operational planning, and long-range forecasting
  • Leverage financial analyses, key performance indicators, and market trends to develop recommendations for strategic decision making on a weekly and monthly cadence
  • Support pivotal capital allocation and investment decisions by utilizing knowledge of financial drivers, return on investment frameworks, sensitivity analyses, and tradeoffs vs. opportunities
  • Collaborate with leaders within the Finance org, as well as various other functions across the company including Corporate Strategy, Legal, Business Development, Product, among others, to align our strategic roadmap with our broader financial goals
  • Support development of business narrative for the Board of Directors and investors
  • Create new or improve existing processes relating to financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision making 

 

About You

As a Senior Associate of Corporate Finance, you possess analytical rigor and the ability to work seamlessly across a diverse range of cross-functional teams. While detail oriented, you enjoy big picture thinking and are able to articulate complex concepts concisely to diverse audiences. Most of all, you are a team player and have a bias to action. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Business/Economics, Data Science, Mathematics or other related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in a relevant field with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact
  • High proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Strong attention to detail and project management / organizational skills
  • Polished communication skills and comfort interfacing with executives
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders across an organization
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for exploring and applying AI/automation tools and techniques to enhance financial forecasting, reporting, and analytical processes
  • Experience in FP&A/Corporate Finance/Strategic Finance, investment banking, investing, consulting, equity research, or data science/anal
