Job Description

This position provides support to the Director of the Office of Safe Schools in the implementation of the Department’s safe schools mission as established by the State Board of Education, the Commissioner of Education, and Legislature, through state goals, priority objectives, the Strategic Imperative Plan, and other policy and procedural directives related to K-12 education. 

 

Additionally, this position will offer and provide training within the Office of Safe Schools that include SESIR Incidents, Florida Safe School Assessment Tool, compliance matters, threat management, bullying, and other areas related to school safety as needed. Responsibilities include knowledge of federal and state statutes and rules, researching and gathering information, and communicating with various constituents. In addition, assists the Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of the Office of Safe Schools in the development, leadership, and implementation of the state’s safe schools policy and programs as represented by state and federal laws, rules and regulations, appropriations, and policy directives.
