Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting (Planning): Working cross functionally to create short (1 qtr), mid (4-8 qtrs) and long (3-5 yrs) term financial forecast for Retail HDD business.
- In collaboration with the Market Intelligence team, Business Marketing, and Sales, creating P&L forecast inclusive of price, volume, mix and cost.
- In conjunction with the Business Marketing, submitting, and talking to weekly Risks and Opportunities off the monthly forecasts.
- Submitting yearly a Long-Range Planning (LRP) P&L Forecast for a 3-5 year period, working with, and aligning closely with the Market Intelligence team and Business Marketing.
Retail Financial Analysis and Reporting (Execution): Analyzing financial execution and providing insights to enhance retail HDD business performance.
- Prepare and drive operational and financial metrics in support of key decision making to achieve financial targets.
- Conducting deep dives on the health of the retail business, including but not limited to revenue, volume, margin, down to a customer and product basis. Prepare variance (PVMC) analysis to identify Price/Volume/Mix/Cost trends and key drivers.
- Influence pricing and contractual programs, reviewing competitive positioning, share, customer contracts, and strategic initiatives through data driven analysis.
- Ensure accurate accounting of programs by comparing enabled sales pricing with pricing as reported in the GL, working cross functionally with accounting, sales, and business management to solve root causes, minimizing issues regarding timing in compliance with US GAAP.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis and provide financial expertise and insight on strategic or cross-functional initiatives.
- Maintain/evolve revenue & margin forecasting models and/or metrics and dashboards.
- Implement process and tools improvements, possibly involving utilization of information systems.
Qualifications
- This position requires bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. A master’s degree in business administration or a related field is a plus.
- 5-7 years of FP&A experience preferably within the retail or technology sector.
- Strong financial analysis, financial modeling, variance analysis, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in PowerPoint, experience with ERP and Business Intelligence systems (PowerBI experience a plus).
- Excellent business partnering skills and working cross functionally to influence the business in navigating through seasonal, secular, and cyclical market dynamics.
- Demonstrated results in improving existing controls and processes, and ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills along with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast passed environment.
- Ability to quickly synthesize information, structure a concise, clear presentation of findings to an executive audience, and prioritize issues as appropriate.
- Proactive, independent, and self-driven individual with the ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
