What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004

Duties: Performs solution design, including software architecture; distributed systems; scalability; design patterns; disaster recovery; tech stacks; minimum viable product (MVP); and non-functional requirements. Assists in design of solutions such that the processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product. Performs server-side programming using Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring, and J2EE technologies. Implements OOP concepts to create modular and maintainable code. Uses core Java techniques while developing services. Designs and implements web applications with Spring MVC framework following the Model-View-Controller architectural pattern. Creates architecture diagrams, service specifications, sequence diagrams, and technical design documents for application development. Creates and maps Java objects to database tables using Hibernate annotations or XML configuration. Designs, develops, and maintains RESTful web services that conform to REST architectural principles. Configures and handles Apache Tomcat Web Application servers. Develops event driven architectures using Kafka to enable seamless data flow and communication between different applications. Builds Java application with Azure cloud service for file storage and data management. Deploys the application to the Azure cloud platform. Sets up CD/CI pipelines for the applications to ensure smooth delivery of the products. Designs the relational database schemas using normalization techniques and NoSQL relational database Cassandra using distributed data storage. Identifies, creates and executes unit and integration test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component using tools like Junit, Mockito, and TestNG. Utilize GitHub for tracking code changes, managing branches, and collaborating with development teams. Implement Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) with Jira to manage sprints, and Confluence to create and maintain technical documentation

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.

Skills required: Must have experience with: coding in object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, Java); designing and implementing REST API Web Services using Java; designing and testing Relational Database Management Systems including MySQL; designing and testing NoSQL Databases; writing Unit and integration tests using tools including Junit  and Mockito; designing, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Git and Cloud platforms; developing and implementing distributed applications using Java; building logging, alerting and monitoring solutions using CloudWatch and triaging issues and finding bugs; Spring planning and management (JIRA); monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Splunk and Dynatrace. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $137,259/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.  Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
