About the role
The Senior Desktop Support Technician handles escalated and more complex IT support tickets and actively manages and participates in IT projects and initiatives.Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:Job Duties
- Resolve complex technology issues, collaborating with internal IT teams as appropriate
- Draft and review technical documentation and proactively identify gaps, making recommendations for process improvement
- Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures
- Manage software inventory and provide vendor support; assist management with license/contract renewals
- Participates in and/or leads enterprise-wide IT projects and intiatives, as assigned
- Maintain current knowledge of computer technology and make recommendations on new types
- of equipment and operational methods based on business needs
- As a subject matter expert, guide and mentor other Desktop Support Technicians
- Format, install, set up, and maintain desktop and laptop computers based on end user specifications in a VDI environment, as required
- Main XC (branch) support for the Seattle region
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, with a mid-to-large size organization (1,000+ users), preferably in the financial services industry
- Experience managing enterprise-wide IT projects
- Advanced proficiency with ITIL processes
- Advanced skills supporting clients in a VDI environment
- Strong ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users
- Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organized with proven expertise managing complex projects
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and VDI environments
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, iOS and Android Operating Systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Certification/License: Microsoft certifications and/or CompTIA A+ certification are preferred
