The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. They create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and cutting-edge capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney’s streaming and digital products.
What You Will Do
• Work as part of a team to implement highly performant, low latency, globally distributed, mission critical systems that
power the billing of our subscribers.
• Develop pipelines to stream data for reconciliation and to our analytics partners.
• Write, test, review, and release elegant software systems that are robust and scalable production ready using the latest
technologies
• Deploy services in multiple regions globally and be responsible for handling traffic for over 100 million combined Disney and
Hulu users.
• Work closely with QA engineers to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Attend agile methodology and SCRUM processes such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and
retrospectives with the team.
• Participate in bi-weekly grooming and planning meetings in order to adapt to changing product priorities and roadmaps.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Knowledge of at least one object-oriented language.
• Knowledge/experience with AWS products and services (ECS, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, etc.) or other cloud providers.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL and no-SQL).
• Experience taking ownership of features/functionality and delivering projects end-to-end with high quality and robust
architecture.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multi-functional business partners.
• Ability to investigate any technical component as well as understand and drive the overall systems architecture.
• Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a collaborative team environment
• Self- motivated and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Scala and functional programming.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of
study, and/or equivalent work experience
