We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineering Manager to lead a talented team responsible for automating, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will guide the creation and integration of cloud accounts, networking, and core services across multiple cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, while ensuring the solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient. You’ll drive strategic initiatives for cloud infrastructure automation and play a key role in shaping the team’s technical direction.
As the leader of this team, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities, ensuring your team builds high-quality, resilient cloud solutions while aligning with organizational goals and compliance standards. You will also could influence and define the evolution of our cloud infrastructure architecture. This role is hybrid in San Francisco, California.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of cloud infrastructure software engineers, providing guidance on technical challenges, career development, and overall team performance. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Cloud Infrastructure Automation Strategy: Develop and implement the strategy working with multiple stakeholders within Autodesk for automating the creation and management of cloud accounts, networking, and core services across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms. Ensure that automation frameworks and tools are scalable, secure, and efficient
Cross-Cloud Architecture Oversight: Guide the design and implementation of cross-cloud infrastructure architectures, ensuring robust integration of compute, storage, networking, and other core cloud services. Provide leadership on multi-cloud strategies and best practices
Networking & Security Leadership: Partner with network managers and architects to design of secure and high-performing networking architectures across cloud platforms, including VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and IAM roles/policies. Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, and others
Process & Tool Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the team’s cloud automation and infrastructure tooling, ensuring efficient cloud resource provisioning, cost management, and operational performance
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with DevOps, security, operations, and compliance teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets organizational needs while maintaining best practices for security, scalability, and cost-efficiency
Incident Management & Monitoring: Ensure the implementation of effective monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to track cloud infrastructure health and performance. Take ownership of cloud-related incidents and provide guidance on root cause analysis and remediation
Cloud Governance & Compliance: Ensure the cloud infrastructure complies with security, regulatory, and organizational standards. Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to ensure proper controls and policies are in place
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Drive documentation efforts for cloud infrastructure best practices, automation procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing across teams and ensure that all solutions are well-documented for future reference
Minimum Qualifications
Cloud Platforms: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, including account creation, network configuration, and cloud resource management. Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and services
Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Ansible. Ability to architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions and knowledge of unified Control Pane
Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as C#, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Go. Strong ability to automate repetitive tasks and implement complex workflows
Cloud Networking & Security: Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnets, security groups, VPNs, etc.) and cloud security principles (IAM, encryption, multi-factor authentication). Experience with network peering, transit gateways, and hybrid cloud architectures
CI/CD & DevOps: Strong experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or A
