The Team Strategic Engagement: Foundation, Sustainability and Policy Intern will work with the Duke Energy Foundation, Sustainability and Policy teams.

• The Duke Energy Foundation powers the vitality of our communities through philanthropy focused on vibrant economies; climate resiliency; and opportunities and inclusion.

• The Sustainability team assists the company in reviewing and advising on the internal controls for the reporting of sustainability matters and leads company efforts to voluntarily disclose information on climate & resiliency, social impact and governance & integrity. In addition, they assist with evolving forward and focusing on sustainability issues that are most relevant to our business and stakeholders, and where we have the best opportunity to make the biggest impact. 

• The Policy team’s mission is to drive the company’s public policy agenda and shape a constructive policy landscape that moves our business forward -- balancing reliability, affordability and increasingly clean energy – through external and internal engagement and thought leadership.

Basic/Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's in Business, Communications, Public Policy, Sustainability or Public Relations

• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Desired Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher

Working Conditions

• Hybrid work environment

• 40-hour work week
