Meet the team:

Our R&D team is looking for an AI Engineer with experience in data engineering, modeling, and machine learning (ML).  In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy new data products leveraging a variety of data sources. You will also drive, own technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional and multi-platform capabilities.  You will be working with the latest cloud computing platforms to create, deploy, and scale artificial intelligence (AI) systems and ML models, positioning Dexcom as an industry leader in health AI applications. We are a new team in R&D building new connected experiences for users across devices and services.  As part of this team, you’ll be able to shape and implement new data-based products that will empower millions of customers to control their health.

Where you come in:

• You drive the design and implementation of AI/ML models, including experimental design, training, evaluation, writing reusable code, and preparing results for broader circulation.

• You independently contribute to and deploy applications using generative AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs).

• You collaborate with other data scientists, architects, and software engineers to deploy and scale AI/ML applications.

• You coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams – including stakeholders from R&D, Commercial, Product, Legal, and Regulatory – to ensure that our development is aligned with company strategy and meets the highest safety standards.

• You bring strong programming skills – including in python, ML ecosystem tools, and generative AI – to the team.

• You contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the safety of our models and systems, identifying areas of risk and proposing mitigation strategies.

• You possess the ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and the time-management skills to meet schedules and participate in scrums.

• You display excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex methodologies and analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.

• You are familiar with relevant, modern software test tools and equipment.
