JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for Core and ancillary account processing system support, maintenance and enhancement efforts to meet business needs. Provides highest level of technical guidance and knowledge for critical account and data processing systems in a 24/7/365 environment. Leads projects and provides technical expertise to the project team to implement complex technical solutions that meet business unit requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Develop and modify interfaces for existing applications and systems while maintaining the integrity of data and processes.
- Provide advice to business units on alternative and recommended approaches to application solutions for meeting their business requirements.
- Provide walkthroughs of systems and their interconnectivity with other applications in the organization.
- Explain and exchange technical information to employees in a non-technical manner to ensure that they comprehend the issue.
- Work cooperatively with other business units to effectively determine information and understand business requirements of a complex nature.
- Conduct business analysis, determine and implement a course of action, set priorities, recognize and take into account changing events and conditions during projects.
- Participate in all phases of testing including, but not limited to, system, integration, acceptance, regression, performance and communicating results.
- Define, develop, and perform application testing procedures.
- Remain current with updates and changes, communicates to appropriate business unit(s).
- Troubleshoot and resolve diverse problems by analyzing information where considerable interpretation of processes is required.
- Provides continuous support to users for current and newly implemented applications for technical issues.
- Take ownership of technical issues by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions and implementing system resolutions, including workarounds.
- Knowledgeable in programming language concepts.
- Absorb technical information when it is presented systematically and apply it effectively.
- Maintains communication with support companies for software and hardware problem solutions for the core processing systems.
- Works directly with the Continuous Improvement department for Core related projects.
- Assists Information Systems with Core System/Applications for disaster recovery.
- Available at all hours to resolve problems by phone or a return to the credit union if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Requirements: Your position has specific procedures that must be followed to comply with Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Bank Secrecy/Patriot Act. You will receive annual training to keep you current on any changes to these policies/procedures to assure compliance. Failure to comply with procedures may cause termination of your position as well as possible monetary penalties from the federal regulatory agency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; three (3) years related experience, preferably in a financial institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
A candidate must possess knowledge of all credit union departmental procedures and ability to adjust computer parameters to conform to policy changes.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) is required. Basic proficiency in SQL, Windows Powershell, PowerOn, HTML, and JavaScript is encouraged. Annually complete and achieve passing scores on various SAFE FCU Policy, Procedure, Development and Enhancement Curriculum.
