Stow Health and Wellness Center is looking to add a Lead Laboratory Technologist to the Lab Team. In this role, you will perform all duties of a Medical Technologist such as performing and interpreting tests at all levels of complexity, using your understanding of the theories and technical, procedural, and problem-solving aspects of Laboratory Science, as well as support, in full or in part, one or more specialized tracks (educational, developmental, and technical resource) of job responsibility. This is a great opportunity for a Medical Technologist who has experience with CAP surveys, inspections, validations, instrument correlations, calibration verifications, training, and competency assessments, and is ready to advance their career to the next level.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 3:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform laboratory testing compliantly and maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness of specific job duties.
Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
Assume responsibility for and acts regarding any quality control or quality assurance issues as it pertains to specific job duties.
Maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Document practices and maintain clear and legible records.
Perform proficiency testing in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant or Laboratory Director.
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
Function as an educator and provide instruction and training in theory, technical skills, safety protocols and the application of laboratory test protocols to students, employees and residents.
Conduct lab specific orientation for new employees and develop and coordinate laboratory continuing education program.
