Solution Architect (Data & Analytics)

Role Summary

This role supports the CIO/CDO through the implementation of data governance, data architecture & design, data quality initiatives, and community engagement programs through information sharing to harmonize the development of an enterprise data infrastructure. This role will also support the vision of a forward-thinking organization eager to innovate and leverage new technologies.  

What You Will Be Doing

• Create and maintain architectural documentation that graphically depicts and describes operating environments (i.e., Development through Production) from data acquisition to delivery.
• Lead design and development of enterprise-scale data/analytics solutions (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouses) to deliver optimal results that meet, or exceed, client expectations and comply with organizational policies.
• Understand and apply data governance policies, tools (e.g. Alation, Collibra) and data management practices to implement secure and reliable solutions.
• Maintain awareness of leading vendors, analytical tools, best practices, and technical advancements in the industry to improve or accelerate project delivery.
• Bridge the gap between business and technology with solution proposals that maximize data assets across the enterprise, which includes reviewing and writing content.
• Prepare and present briefings to all levels of an organization that describe ideas, analysis of alternatives w/recommendations, solution architectures, expected benefits, risks w/mitigation measures, timelines, etc.
• Conceptualize AI and ML projects using state of the art tools and methodology
• Create new project ideas and use cases related to AI and data using industry tools

What We Need From You (Required)  

• A minimum of 12+ years of direct experience with databases, data modeling, data engineering, and data architecture.
• Solid understanding of data and how data can be used to mature capabilities, internally within the company and externally with our customers.
• Capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions, leveraging existing IT investments and proposing new technologies/tools/approaches
• Familiar with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and robotic process automation (RPA) to help usher in new ways of working that saves time and money while advancing capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• US citizenship is required (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Work Location

Hybrid – will be required to travel to the client site (Alexandria, VA) occasionally.

Education Level

Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience (preferably with a technical major such as computer science, information systems, or engineering).

Clearance Level

Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance; U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
