Job Description Summary
We are seeking a tech-savvy, organized, and enthusiastic individual to assist operations of our eSports Lab. The eSports Student Assistant will ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for users by maintaining equipment, assisting with technical issues, monitoring gameplay, and fostering a positive and inclusive gaming environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about eSports, gaming technology, and community engagement.The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:
Position Summary:
Esports Summer Camp Job Coach will be responsible for instructing and supervising children at a summer camp focused on video games, teaching them competitive gaming skills, strategy, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive online behavior, while ensuring a fun and safe learning environment across various popular esports titles like Valorant, Fortnite, Overwatch, Smash, and etc. Working with students between the age of 12-18, thus this position involves working directly with minors and children, requiring a background investigation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work on game mechanics, strategies, and tactics specific to different esports titles, while increasing campers' skill levels
· Organize and oversee in-camp tournaments, including scheduling matches, tracking scores, and providing commentary
· Educate campers on good sportsmanship, respectful online behavior, and healthy gaming habits
· Maintain a safe and positive environment by monitoring camper behavior, enforcing camp rules, and addressing any issue
· Identify individual strengths and weaknesses, providing personalized feedback and training plans to improve gameplay
· Facilitate team practice sessions, promoting effective communication, coordination, and role assignments within teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· High level of gameplay in at least one popular esports title with a strong understanding of game mechanics and strategies
· Ability to clearly explain complex concepts, provide constructive feedback, and effectively manage groups
· Confidence in leading group activities, motivating campers, and resolving conflict
· Understanding of child development, ability to adapt to different learning styles, and create an inclusive environment
· Basic understanding of computer hardware, streaming platforms, and gaming software

Work location: Esports Arena
Work Hours: 9am-3pm Monday-Thursday, 3pm-5pm if scheduled for aftercare/open play
Length of employment: June 30th-July 24th
Required: Criminal background investigation
Education and Experience
Minimum:
Must be enrolled as a student of Ringling College of Art and Design.
