Noblis is seeking Senior Software Engineers to assist National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Airspace Operations (AO) efforts. The work will support the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Campaign. The candidate will provide full software development lifecycle services spanning the design, development, test, and deployment of innovative software solutions with a strong emphasis on user experience, human factors, and software quality to enhance FAA operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
  • Design and develop software applications.
  • Validate & verify testing and data analysis support to expand capabilities for research and simulations. Includes analysis support for simulation on the conflict severity evaluation, flight performance models and separation service software and simulation tools.
  • Perform the development of separation assurance requirements for separation standards towards airspace, including a set of use cases for separation standards.
  • Perform research activities designed to determine requirements for the development of candidate set of Airspace Services.
  • Contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including strategic planning, innovative concepts, thought leadership, and team management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Eligibility to obtain NASA Suitability
  • Experience with general NoSQL databases, specifically design and development of knowledge graph software systems dealing with structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with general software development for cloud computing services and micro-services architecture
  • Experience working with scripting languages like Python, R, AngularJS and Javascript
  • Knowledge of NASA/FAA airspace systems, ideally existing UTM data models
  • Experience with design and implementation (including build, test, release, deploy and configuration) activities of related applications
  • Proficiency in DevOps discipline and processes supporting Continuous Delivery Tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, CloudFormation
  • Expertise in Docker container technology and associated functionality

Desired Qualifications

  • NASA experience.
  • Active NASA Suitability is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline
