Position Overview:

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking a Director of Transportation and Infrastructure Policy. The Director of Transportation and Infrastructure Policy serves as a key advisor, issue expert and lobbyist for the NAM and its members on a range of issues, including surface transportation, aerospace, water and water resources infrastructure, pipelines and hazardous materials, endangered species, national historic preservation, and more.

• Responsible for analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals.
• Supports the VP of Domestic Policy to develop and execute legislative and regulatory strategies on designated issues to advance manufacturers' priorities.
• Ensures that the NAM's positions reflect the core values of the manufacturing community.
• Identifies issues, communicates updates on priority items, and assist with recruitment and retention of membership companies.
• Guide NAM advocacy campaigns and demonstrate value to our membership on assigned issues.
• Identify opportunities to enhance NAM’s public-facing initiatives.
• Participate in public-facing speaking engagements.
• Analyzes statutory, procedural, and legal/litigation impacts of legislative and regulatory proposals.
• Responsible for pitching, planning and executing events to drive the NAM’s strategic advocacy goals.
• Manage relationships with policymakers on Capitol Hill and in the Administration to support transportation and infrastructure issues.
• Communicates complex issues clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences.


Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8-10 years of related Capitol Hill, Executive Branch and/or Association policy development experience.
• Exceptional understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced, quality and goal-driven environment.
• Experience with public speaking, including engagement with the media, is preferred.
• Ability to draft regulatory comment letters and congressional testimony.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct reports.


Salary Range: $103,000 - $150,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
