Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an accredited on-campus mental health facility dedicated to supporting the well-being of UT Austin students. CMHC offers a range of services, including assessment and referral, group and individual counseling, psychiatry and well-being services.

University Health Services (UHS) is an accredited on-campus medical facility dedicated to addressing the various healthcare needs of UT Austin students. UHS provides comprehensive services, including general medical care, public health education and specialty clinics.


The Longhorn Wellness Center (LWC) is the health promotion unit servicing University Health Services and Counseling and Mental Health Center. Staff focuses on educating students about priority college health issues by hosting workshops and events, creating new tools, and collaborating with the campus community to enhance overall well-being.

Purpose

We are seeking a skilled, customer‑focused IT professional to join our team as either a Desktop Support Specialist or Senior Desktop Support Specialist, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. This role provides hands‑on technical support, contributes to system maintenance, and plays a key part in ensuring a reliable and positive technology experience for departmental users.

Candidates with foundational experience in desktop support are encouraged to apply for the Desktop Support Specialist level, while those with advanced expertise, leadership in training/onboarding, and strong documentation skills may be considered for the Senior level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, courteous support through the central help line and IT ticketing system.

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software following established standards.

  • Research technical issues, identify solutions, and escalate or recommend improvements to ADHITS.
