Join our vibrant Human Resources team as a Housing and Activities Coordinator, where you'll play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for our staff. This position requires a blend of organizational skills, creativity, and interpersonal finesse to manage housing logistics and coordinate a variety of activities to enhance the overall experience.

About Denali National Park:​

Summer days are nearly endless in Alaska! Denali Park Village is a highly rated resort located just outside Denali National Park & Preserve nestled on the banks of the Nenana River, just minutes from the park entrance. Open May to September, our guests enjoy comfortable rooms, excellent dining, and live entertainment.​

6.2 million acres of Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Mount Denali, the highest point in North America. The park welcomes over half a million visitors per year. By road, the area is 5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks. Buses traverse the 90-mile road daily throughout the warm summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp.

Job Responsibilities

Housing Coordination:
•    Manage the allocation of housing assignments, ensuring efficient use of available space.
•    Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, providing assistance and support to residents or guests.
•    Address housing-related concerns, facilitate conflict resolution, and liaise with maintenance staff for timely issue resolution.
•    Manage employee guest visitor requests and approvals
Activity Planning:
•    Develop and implement a diverse range of engaging activities and events for residents or guests.
•    Collaborate with community members or guests to gather feedback and preferences for activity planning.
•    Source and negotiate contacts with vendors for off-site activities and events.
Communication and Promotion:
•    Maintain clear and open communication with residents or guests regarding housing information, upcoming activities, and community updates.
•    Utilize various communication channels to promote activities and events, fostering a sense of community engagement.
Budget Management:
•    Assist in developing and managing budgets for housing-related expenses and activities.
•    Monitor expenditures, seek cost-effective solutions, and provide regular updates on financial status.
Collaboration:
•    Work closely with other departments, such as the employee dining room, and security, to ensure seamless coordination of events.
•    Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to enhance the variety of available activities and resources.
Documentation and Reporting:
•    Maintain accurate records of housing assignments, activity plans, attendance, and resident feedback.
•    Generate regular reports on housing occupancy, activity participation, and budget utilization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in housing management, event planning, or community engagement.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when planning activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Customer-service-oriented with a positive and approachable demeanor.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
