Gannett is seeking an Sr. Manager of Affiliate Partnerships to report to the Executive Director of Affiliate Partnerships, who will be responsible for managing existing affiliate partnership relationships while also assisting in new business development of an exciting area of multifaceted affiliate partnerships spanning all content categories (aka Pillars) for USA TODAY and its owned and operated local publications.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.
Responsibilities:
• Direct and collaborative team management of existing affiliate partnerships
◦ Ensure regular communication with partners to stay up-to-date on performance KPI’s, optimization/growth opportunities and partner retention.
◦ Strategic business plans and roadmaps to drive success.
• Collaborate with team on identifying and initiating new business opportunities to complement content Pillars.
• Partner with Product, Sales/B2B, Finance, Legal and Editorial Strategy teams to conceptualize new partnerships and throughout the sales cycle.
• Partner with Legal team to draft and negotiate agreements along with renewals.
• Utilize Salesforce to store contracts and codify deal terms and expirations, with any CRM touchpoints.
• Work with team to manage monthly flash, expense and financial reporting models.
• Work with team to ensure partner oversight, deal fulfillment, analytics access and business strategy is properly executed.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of competitive marketplace
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in journalism or any other subject or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three-plus years in digital partnerships, sales or business-analyst role
• Comprehensive understanding of digital-publishing landscape and/or digital media, entertainment content-distribution ecosystem.
• Experience working with multiple departments and stakeholders.
• Experience supporting partner-facing executives and internal leadership teams.
• Thinks outside-the-box; strategic, self-starter, finding efficient, agile solutions for an ever-changing digital landscape.
• Superior Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, and Teams skills, as well as Slack; project management tools proficiency a plus.
• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form with history of successful cross-department collaboration.
• Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity.
