Senior IT Systems Engineer (Microsoft Azure)

A Day in the Life of a Senior IT Systems Engineer will include:
- Design, develop, and implement robust IT solutions to meet business needs, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security;
- Administer and maintain various operating systems, including Windows and Linux, ensuring optimal system performance;
- Install, configure, and manage storage infrastructure, virtualization systems (e.g., VMware), Microsoft servers and applications, as well as VDI infrastructure;
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, and cloud-based connectivity;
- Implement and manage Azure and on-premise Active Directory for identity management;
- Ensure secure domain integration and role-based access control;
- Lead and execute the migration of on-premises systems to the Azure cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations;
- Set up and configure network and IT infrastructure in new company locations to support business expansion or relocation efforts;
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls);
- Oversee daily IT operations, including server, storage, networks, and virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and resilience;
- Optimize cloud and on-premises systems for performance, scalability, and security, utilizing Azure cloud services effectively;
- Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect systems and data, addressing risks proactively;
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR and ISO 27001, in all IT operations;
- Provide timely and effective solutions to system outages and performance issues, ensuring continuity of business operations;
- Deliver end-user support and resolve IT-related issues promptly and effectively;
- Coordinate with business units to minimize downtime during transitions;
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, configurations, and asset inventories;
- Generate and present regular reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions to management and stakeholders;
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior IT staff to build a high-performing IT team;
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline;
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT systems engineering or a similar role;
- Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, VMs, Storage Accounts);
- Experience in virtualization environments, particularly VMware;
- Certified on the following or relevant certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure relocation, Azure cloud migrations, and systems integration;
- Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN network design, implementation, and support;
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls);
- Strong knowledge of IT monitoring tools and user support ticketing systems;
- Advanced server management and system optimization capabilities;
- Familiarity with security protocols and compliance frameworks, such as GDPR and ISO 27001;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach;
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities;
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and perform well under pressure;
- Experience and willingness to work in an international/multicultural environment;
- Excellent knowledge of English language (written and verbal).
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate;
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate;
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate;
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent;
