About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Program Support Technician Senior in our Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will expunge criminal history records from the Virginia Criminal History Network (VCIN) and Federal Bureau of Investigations III (FBI) records; administer court order compliance for criminal justice agencies statewide; maintain the state archive of expunged records, execute criminal record challenges, and maintain FBI linkages through daily and quarterly audits; generate daily action reports to identify office prioritized work activities; research files, generate follow up notices, certify mail packages, and close files; and provide customer service to petitioners, attorneys, and court representatives.

Minimum Qualifications
•Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures.
•Working knowledge of basic legal principles, processes and research methods.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications and other computer formatted functions.
•Demonstrate ability to read, interpret, and apply state statutes, policies, and procedures for order compliance; to research/analyze criminal history records, court orders, petitions and supporting documentation in order to process court petitions/orders; to utilize research, analytical, customer service, organizational, and time management skills; to update criminal history records and meet dissemination requirements; to work independently and as a member of a team, paying close attention to detail; and to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with agency personnel and with the general public.
•Must be eligible to become Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified which requires either United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
•Must be able to work overtime as needed.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional Considerations
•Paralegal experience preferred.
•Experience analyzing legal documents for compliance with laws and regulations preferred.
