General Statement of Job:

In this role, you'll support the daily operations and maintenance of the facility, ensuring it remains a great place for our community to enjoy. You'll be working closely with others, contributing to a positive atmosphere for both staff and visitors. This position involves a variety of tasks and is supported by regular guidance to help you succeed.

Examples of duties

  • Greet and assist patrons, providing information about services, programs, and policies.
  • Manage court bookings, confirm reservations, and handle cancellations.
  • Schedule tennis lessons, manage instructor availability, and track lesson records.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash, credit card, and online transactions.
  • Handle membership registrations, renewals, and maintain accurate member records.
  • Assist with organizing and promoting tournaments, social events, and special programs.
  • Perform office tasks, maintain the reception area, and manage communication between patrons and staff.
  • Assist in maintain court appearance which can include rolling/brushing and lining courts clay courts. Blowing debris and removing excess water when needed. Routine custodial care inside the facility.  
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Basic understanding of tennis rules and terminology to assist with bookings and inquiries.
  • Knowledge of general office techniques.
  • Basic understanding of tennis rules and terminology to assist with bookings and inquiries.

Skilled in:

  • Skilled in customer service, including friendly and professional communication, conflict resolution, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests
  • Prioritizing tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and on-time completion.
  • Proficient in typing at a speed of 20 words per minute

Ability to:

  • Collaborate with staff and supporting event coordination to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Understand and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Operate cash register and make simple arithmetical calculations.
  • Multitask by managing phone calls, in-person inquiries, and administrative duties simultaneously

Supplemental information

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and 
  • Six (6) months of experience performing office support and clerical functions, including experience with operating point of sale and cash handling.
