About the role

We investigate the molecular mechanisms of sex steroids and their roles in metabolism using transgenic and knockout mouse models and human samples. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to oversee, coordinate, and train laboratory staff in support of the research program led by Principal Investigator Dr. Franck Mauvais-Jarvis. Key responsibilities include managing the execution of experimental assays, ensuring accurate documentation, data analysis, and preparation of charts and reports, and maintaining inventories of reagents, supplies, samples, and equipment. The position also involves preparing and managing regulatory documents (IACUC, OSHA, Tulane OEHS, and shipping) to ensure full compliance and providing comprehensive oversight of daily laboratory operations and maintenance.

• Basic skills in aseptic cell culture, animal handling, biochemical and cellular assays

• Use of typical biomedical lab equipment

• Computer competence (Word, Excel) and/or use of data analysis software (Prism)

• Known supervisory experience with staff and students

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Excellent work ethic

• Good interaction and collaboration with colleagues

• Ability to meticulously collect and record research data

• Good analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to follow instructions and keen interest to learn

• Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments

Minimum Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in biological science and three years of experience in biomedical research facility
Preferred Qualification:
• M.S. Degree in a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a biomedical research facility
