POSITION SPECIFICS​

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a General Manager for the Men’s Basketball program reporting to the Head Coach. This is a non-coaching position which will coordinate all recruiting aspects of the Men’s Basketball program. 

• Execute the direction given by Head Coach on recruiting, roster management, salary cap management, paying structures and fundraising for program
• Initiate and create Recruiting Evaluations of high school and transfer portal student-athletes 
• Spearhead and organize fundraising efforts for Men’s basketball
• Build Men’s Basketball Network of supporters, donors and commercial support
• Liaison for Men’s basketball to NIL networks
• Organize and directly lead all negotiations and contract interactions
• Assist in all Recruiting efforts deemed by the Head Coach
• Build network of agent/agency contacts
• Oversee all game scheduling 
• Share and implement Head Coach’s vision for program success.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

 

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

 

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
