About the role
Position Overview
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of AGA’s Membership activities. Set strategy for membership engagement, briefings, and marketing materials. Oversee member retention and recruitment programs, database integrity, invoicing, and membership communications including AmGas, Year-End Reports and member briefings.
Role and Responsibilities
MEMBERSHIP
- Responsible for the membership, retention, and recruitment of companies.
- Develop member communications strategy in coordination with other AGA communications.
- Develop prospective member lists and background information.
- Develop routine engagement with members including phone calls, visits, and briefings.
- Ensure AGA staff is up to date on member company staffing changes, committee changes, or other impacts to membership.
- Monitor national media coverage on natural gas utilities and share notable news as appropriate within AGA.
- Plan and coordinate membership programs and projects with staff to promote member knowledge, awareness, and information sharing.
- Oversee the annual Committee Clearance, Product and Service invoices, and Scope book processes.
- Ensure quality control in NetForum data, reports, and training.
- Create a culture within AGA of information sharing information with the MSD team.
- Serve as the staff executive for the Small Member Council.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Serve as Editor-in-Chief for AmGas and share articles with the utility community, manage vendor relations such as YGS, NxtBook, Actual Size, etc.
- Manage the editorial calendar for AmGas to ensure alignment with AGA objectives.
- Write and develop AGA’s annual year-end report.
- Lead AGA's NAHB’s International Builders Show efforts.
- Maintain the Buyer’s Guide, Job Board, and other website and external facing products, such as Higher Logic, as needed.
- Prepare the AGA Dashboard of association activity highlights for board and executive committee.
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
- Coordinate with the International Gas Union (IGU) Secretariat on activities relating to AGA’s role as the USA representative to the IGU.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Ability to identify and apply innovative approaches to member services, strong customer service orientation.
- Strong and effective verbal, oral, and written communications skills.
- Outstanding people management and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work effectively with AGA staff and member company executives.
- Ability to work within budget and under tight timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree, at least 8 years of experience in trade associations.
- Proven membership track record.
- Ability to travel; up to 20%.
