POSITION SUMMARY

Provide excellent customer relations and administrative leadership that enable the department to achieve its goals and advance the mission of Marion Technical College (the "College"). Demonstrate effective organizational skills and provide direction to administer the College’s facilities, improvements, and operations across the main campus and the MTC Downtown location.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from students, employees, and customers while maintaining confidentiality and privacy in accordance with College policies, FERPA, student records requirements, and other applicable privacy standards.

2. Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures and communicate facilities-related policies, procedures, and changes to faculty, staff, students, outside agencies, and vendors.

3. Foster a team-oriented, customer-service culture within the department. Maintain accurate departmental records, identify opportunities for improvement, establish service standards, and implement proactive strategies to enhance customer service. Conduct department meetings as appropriate.

4. Align departmental operations with the College’s Strategic Plan by establishing goals, objectives, and performance measures; evaluating outcomes; promoting collaboration and systems thinking; supporting College-wide assessment and planning activities; and coordinating special projects.

5. Administer the College’s Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance program, including renewals, certificates of insurance, claims, property valuations, and coordination with insurance carriers and brokers to ensure adequate coverage of College assets.

6. Serve as the College’s liaison for joint campus operations with The Ohio State University–Marion (OSUM) and assist with the development and negotiation of the Marion Campus Joint Operating Agreement. Develop short- and long-term joint facilities plans, coordinate shared facilities and security resources, serve as the primary contact for designated vendors, and establish service expectations and response times.

7. Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support College facility improvements, renovations, safety enhancements, and capital projects, including grants, state and federal funding, and other external resources.

8. Represent the College on the Facilities Planning Committee with The Ohio State University–Marion (OSUM) and utilize the Committee’s expertise in addressing facilities-related matters. Represent the College in resolving joint-campus issues and assist with the development and negotiation of shared facilities, library, student activities, and security budgets.

9. Monitor College facilities and operations through regular inspections of buildings and grounds at the main campus and MTC Downtown location. Identify and prioritize maintenance, cleaning, security, and facility needs; establish completion schedules and performance standards; and coordinate site-specific protocols for the Downtown facility.

10. Oversee and coordinate construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects across all College properties. Assist with the selection and management of architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals in accordance with applicable state and College procurement requirements. Serve as the College liaison and contract manager for architectural and engineering services and assist with space design and project development.

11. Develop biannual state Capital Plans in coordination with OSUM, incorporating the capital needs of all MTC facilities. Oversee the collection and reporting of facilities, safety, and related data required by local, state, and federal agencies, including HEI.

12. Coordinate and complete facilities-related requirements in the State of Ohio’s OAKS and Controlling Board systems, including preparing and submitting requests, supporting documentation, items for payment, approvals, capital project information, and required updates in accordance with state requirements and College procedures.
