We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of systems in a mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing preventive and corrective maintenance across a range of mechanical, and process mechanical equipment specifically compressed air systems. This role ensures safety, compliance, and consistent system readiness to support client and facility operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressed air systems, including Oil-Free Air (OFA), High-Pressure Oil-Free Air (HPOFA), and Low-Pressure Oil-Free Air (LPOFA) systems, as well as ancillary equipment such as dryers, receivers, filtration units, condensate systems, and controls.
  • Execute all scheduled maintenance (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, 2-year, and 5-year) in accordance with OEM requirements, internal standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct instrument calibrations (pressure, flow, temperature, dew point, etc.) in place or through certified laboratory calibration, ensuring reinstallation, tagging, and verification of functionality.
  • Perform full Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) prior to maintenance, verify zero-energy state, and safely remove isolation only after completion and verification of work.
  • Coordinate with site operations or facilities teams to ensure systems are safely handed off and restored without impacting production.
  • Obtain approval from qualified personnel for any deviations from OEM or internal maintenance intervals, methods, or materials.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system or equipment issues affecting performance, reliability, or safety.
  • Record all maintenance activities, findings, and calibration data accurately in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo, eMaint, SAP PM, or equivalent.
  • Develop and submit cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment related to corrective or improvement work.
  • Follow all site safety standards, including confined space entry, elevated work, and PPE compliance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for system failures and propose corrective or preventive actions to improve reliability.
  • Maintain calibration documentation and ensure all instruments are certified, traceable, and properly labeled.
  • Review and update job plans, SOPs, and maintenance procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance data (pressures, flows, dew points, compressor run hours) and report abnormalities to supervision or engineering.
  • Support spare parts and materials management, ensuring critical spares are available for recurring PM and CM activities.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, leads, and planners to ensure safe, coordinated maintenance execution and efficient scheduling.
  • Participate in ongoing technical and safety training to maintain or expand qualifications (mechanical, instrumentation, or controls disciplines).
  • Ensure full compliance with LOTO procedures, zero safety incidents, and on-time completion of all scheduled PM and CM activities.
  • Provide continuous feedback on system condition, PM effectiveness, and opportunities for reliability optimization or predictive maintenance improvements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in operations and maintenance within mission-critical or industrial facilities.
  • Broad technical knowledge of mechanical and/or process systems, specifically compressed air systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and escalate issues with equipment and systems effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety standards in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, vendors, and operations staff.
  • Attention to detail with accurate documentation and monitoring of system performance.
  • Ability to remain proactive and responsive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
