About the Job:

At MMNA, our Finance team plays a critical role in shaping the company’s future by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight in every financial statement we produce. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the core accounting activities that build the foundation of MMNA’s financial reporting—work that is shared directly with our parent company (MMC) and reviewed by both internal and external auditors.

This is more than a back-office role. In our lean, highly collaborative finance team, every member contributes on multiple fronts, gaining exposure to leadership across the company—including our CFO. This role reports to the: Manager, Accounting.

Role Summary:

The Senior Accountant will manage essential accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of MMNA’s financial statements and supporting the business as it grows under our Momentum 2030 plan—a long-term strategy to release a new vehicle or major refresh every year through 2030, while advancing electrification.

As a Senior Accountant, You Will:

  • Prepare and post accurate general ledger journal entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements provided to MMC, internal management, and auditors.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing schedules, documentation, and explanations as required.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.
  • Support special projects, ad hoc analyses, and reporting requests as needed.
  • Serve as a key resource for financial accuracy and compliance, helping to strengthen the foundation for MMNA’s continued growth.

Measuring Your Momentum:

First 90 Days – Getting Up To Speed

  • Successfully navigate a quarter-end close cycle.
  • Prepare required reporting for MMC, internal stakeholders, and external auditors.
  • Build a strong understanding of MMNA’s accounting processes and systems.

Year 1 Victory Lap:

  • Demonstrate full proficiency in assigned responsibilities.
  • Take ownership of multiple accounting functions and reporting processes.
  • Be prepared to take on additional duties, projects, and leadership opportunities within the finance team.

Ready to Join The Team? You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Extra Horsepower (Profile Differentiators):

  • CPA license or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or with multinational corporations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
