Job Description
The Commercial Strategic Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks within the Commercial Division. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with various teams to integrate risk management practices into all aspects of the Division. The Strategic Risk Officer will also work with Line of Business leadership to ensure all risks are appropriately assessed and managed for Line of Business activities, including routine updates and ongoing monitoring.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will collaborate with key stakeholders to complete risk assessments, including risk identification and control implementation.
- You will implement and test controls, develop policies and procedures, and generate compliance reports.
- You will manage risk identification and assessment, KRIs/KPIs development, quarterly control certifications, vendor risk analyses, and control library ownership.
- You will partner with other risk and control functions to address failed controls or risks and drive actions to reduce material risks.
- You will provide ongoing communication and training related to risk management, policy, and procedural enhancements.
- You will work with training and development teams to ensure appropriate and required risk training is developed and delivered.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a strategic risk officer, operational risk management, or related field.
- Proficient in risk management principles, methodologies, and tools. Understands operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks, along with appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Able to analyze complex data to identify patterns, trends, and risks, and generate data-driven solutions consistent with enterprise risk tolerance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must have excellent oral, written and communication skills, including interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills including presenting in front of a group
- Ability to appropriately influence decision-making at all levels and across multiple line of business <
