<h2>This is the role</h2>
<p>As a Senior Lead Accountant you are an experienced financial in our team in the Netherlands and across Europe. You are overseeing accounting and financial reporting for our significant European entities. It requires a blend of analytical skills, accounting knowledge, and project management abilities. And you’ll collaborate closely with the Finance Manager on European projects, including our company's strategic focus on circular and low-carbon initiatives.<br/>
You play a critical role in maintaining a comprehensive overview of the legal entities, with a strong emphasis on upholding robust SOX-compliant internal control governance systems. It involves close interaction with various departments across the finance organization, including the Intercompany team, GL team, Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, O2C, P2P, as well as with supply chain, HR payroll, and Legal teams<br/>
Strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge are essential for success in this role, given its significant impact on the main selling entities in Europe and its involvement in both statutory reporting and project support.<br/>

Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the Way in Statutory Reporting: Take charge of preparing and reviewing statutory annual accounts and related audit documents for our assigned legal entities.</li>
<li>Ownership of Financial Precision: Be the owner of monthly sales and cost of sales reconciliations, ensuring meticulous volume and margin control. Additionally, manage balance sheet accounts, conduct analytical reviews, and perform quarterly assessments of revenue and cost of sales recognition.</li>
<li>Mastering Pension Accounting: Lead the accounting for the yearly pension process in the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. Ensure accurate accounting of pension assets and liabilities in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 715), IFRS (IAS 19), and NL GAAP.</li>
<li>Compliance and Reporting: Handle periodic statistics reporting, including CBS, and manage local statutory compliance requirements.</li>
<li>Auditing Excellence: Serve as the focal point for audits conducted by external auditors, such as PwC, and lead the annual US GAAP group audit when applicable.</li>
<li>Guardian of Internal Controls: Take responsibility for performing SOX controls within your area of responsibility, ensuring financial integrity.</li>
<li>Accounting Expertise: Actively engage with Accounting Policy and Business Finance to discuss and agree on the treatment and accounting of exceptional accounting topics.</li>
<li>Leadership in Board Meetings: Lead important meetings for the assigned legal entities, including board meetings and other significant discussions.</li>
<li>Month-End Mastery: Execute month-end close activities under US GAAP, IFRS, and Dutch GAAP for the assigned legal entities. This includes conducting flux analysis and reviewing and preparing account reconciliations.</li>
<li>Driving Finance Excellence: Act as a valuable resource for European Finance projects, lending support to the Finance Manager as needed. Lead initiatives focused on productivity enhancements and streamlining financial reporting processes. Maintain strong working relationships with the Financial Reporting Group in Houston and interface with the Financial Group in Rotterdam.</li>
<li>Circularity Champion: Play a pivotal role in the 'Circularity Project,' ensuring that acquisitions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and NL GAAP.</li>
<li>Collaborative Partner: Collaborate effectively with functional process teams to ensure that accounting records are consistently accurate, timely, and complete.</li>
