Job Summary
Facilitates organizational transitions, ensures smooth adoption of new initiatives, and drives cultural evolution within the company. Leads, manages, and provides governance for the change management practitioners ensuring alignment and achievement of business results. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills to navigate complex change processes effectively.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Develops comprehensive change management strategies aligned with organizational objectives and initiatives. Collaborates with senior leadership to define change goals, timelines, and success metrics.
- Leads the planning and execution of change initiatives across the organization. Develops detailed change management plans, including communication strategies, training programs, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Identifies key stakeholders and builds relationships to garner support for change initiatives. Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to address concerns, solicit feedback, and manage resistance.
- Develops clear and compelling communication messages to articulate the need for change, its impact, and the benefits to the organization. Utilizes various communication channels to reach diverse audiences and ensures transparency throughout the change process.
- Designs and delivers training programs to equip employees with the knowledge and skills required to adapt to new processes, systems, or ways of working. Provides ongoing support and resources to facilitate learning and development.
- Conducts change readiness assessments to evaluate organizational readiness for change and identifies potential barriers or risks. Develops mitigation strategies to address resistance and ensure successful change adoption.
- Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the progress and effectiveness of change initiatives. Analyzes data and feedback to continuously improve change management processes and outcomes.
- Drives cultural transformation initiatives to foster a change-ready mindset and promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate change management activities seamlessly into broader organizational initiatives. Foster a collaborative environment to maximize synergy and alignment across teams.
Non-essential Functions
- Develops dashboards and reporting tools to communicate change management performance metrics, goals and results for all necessary business units.
- Provides coaching to other initiative stakeholders.
- Continues to grow understanding of change management profession.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of the change management practice to align with industry best practices and Border States needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational psychology, change management, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in change management roles, with a track record of successfully leading complex change initiatives in large organizations.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving business results through effective change management practices.
- Proficiency in change management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Certification in change management (e.g. Prosci) preferred
- Experience working in diverse cultural and organizational environments, with a keen understanding of the human dynamics of change.
- Understanding of Project Management Methodologies.
- Expert with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook)
- Experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
