Director of Procurement

The Director of Procurement shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Oversee and manage all aspects of the procurement process within the organization. Develop and implement procurement strategies, establish vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure that purchasing activities align with organizational goals and objectives. Lead a team of procurement professionals and collaborate with our producers to optimize procurement processes and drive cost savings while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. 

Vendor management:

• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, ensure favorable terms and conditions. Evaluate vendor performance. 

Cost management:

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce cost, and maximize value of the organization.

Team leadership and development:

• Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals.

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Collaborate with producers to understand business requirements, align procurement strategies with organizational goals, and support project initiatives.

Process improvement:

• Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency. Implement tools and technologies to streamline procurement operations and drive automation where possible.

Performance tracking and reporting: 

• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure procurement performance. Track and report on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance to senior management. 

Sustainability and corporate social responsibility:

• Incorporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility principles into procurement practices.
• Identify opportunities for environmentally friendly and socially responsible procurement practices.

Required Technical Skills:

• Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Analytical mindset
• Ability to use a vendor database.

Educations, Certifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and market trends.
• Contract management.

Physical Requirements:

(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data.
