Location:
This is a Hybrid role based out of our Chico CA location, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. Option for remote work for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
Develop knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and customers by working closely with other business groups
Ability to quickly understand complex processes and communicate them in simple language
Coordinate cross-functional projects with Merchandising, Marketing, Data, and potentially other teams at FergusonHome.com and Ferguson.com
Admin duties in Salsify
Assist suppliers in mapping to the new Ferguson data collection channel
Create and monitor workflows to standardize incoming product data
Create and monitor transformation channels for internal data export
Support hierarchies for online channels as follows:
Create and maintain data structures and customer facing taxonomy that drive navigation and internal site search for FergusonHome.com
Work to integrate all products into the Taxonomy Standards database and conduct high level cleanup of legacy data
Provide feedback on and complete attribution strategy for online channels to improve customer experience
Work to eliminate and prevent synonym and homonym attributes
Collaborate with Taxonomy team members for consistency across departments
Work closely with Merchandising and Marketing Teams to ensure taxonomy and attribute changes are beneficial for all
Work closely with Data to ensure collection guidelines are understandable and executable
Support Master Data Management (MDM) system hierarchies as follows:
Work Create and maintain data structures to enable the classification of products within Ferguson’s MDM
Provide support and collaboration with Ferguson’s Taxonomist to maintain classification and attribution mapping
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience working closely with Ferguson Enterprise data and/or Ferguson Home’s data ideal or experience outside of Ferguson in this field.
Knowledge of what taxonomies and controlled vocabularies are and interest in developing both
Knowledge and understanding of how navigation structures impact site search and product findability
Ability to analyze and understand complex processes and make decisions based on results
Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to network, bring new ideas, take initiative, and sell your ideas to others
Proven track record of horizontal leadership: taking initiative to teach/assist team members, cross department coworkers and external suppliers
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, analytical, tech savvy
Experience in SQL, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite
Degree in Library or Information Science, Linguistics, or equivalent professional experience
Experience with market research, audience targeting, competitive analysis, analytics tools, and usability testing
Familiarity with Stibo Systems MDM highly preferred also Salsify PXM, Salsify Channels, other PIM Software
Understanding of content technologies such as content management systems, metadata and taxonomy management tools, migration tools, and analytics tools
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy and planning
