Position Specific Description

In this role, your primary function is to support the development of new business opportunities, technical solutions and projects that support the growth of our renewable asset portfolio in wind, solar, and battery storage projects.  As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for projects from beginning to end, ensuring they are completed within most cost effective and timely manner.  

 

This position manages all aspects of the project and ensures it is completed timely and within budgetary constraints. This includes exposure to cross functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will coordinate key functions such as financial, permitting, transmission, and contractual arrangements for project development.  You will partner with leadership to increase our business development efforts, directly impacting NextEra Energy’s bottom line.  You will be responsible for presenting your updates and findings to Development leadership, and also providing your thoughts and input on a daily basis to make for a collaborative and dynamic team. You will travel across our sites, and be given the chance to dive into the process and progression of new projects. You will partner with leadership to increase our business development efforts, directly impacting NextEra Energy’s bottom line.

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
• Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
• Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects 
• Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
• Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
• Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
• Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
• Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
• Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad/GED
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Experience:  5+ years
