About the Job:

The Revenue Cycle Training Coordinator is responsible for delivering detailed revenue cycle training to both new and existing CBO staff. This includes providing classroom instruction on a variety of revenue cycle topics. The role focuses on educating team members about revenue cycle concepts, technology, and software applications. The Revenue Cycle Training Coordinator will implement a consistent training program for new hires and current team members, developing a standard curriculum and utilizing various resource materials for training.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a training plan for new revenue cycle staff.

  • Provides necessary training for new employees and ongoing training for current employees to ensure proficiency in revenue cycle operations. Conducts training sessions in a classroom environment.

  • Trains staff individually on AR processes and industry best practices.

  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and the progress of learners and provides feedback to leadership on team members who are particularly excelling or struggling.  

  • Coordinates revenue cycle management quality audit to validate competency and reports findings and recommendations.

  • Delivers audit results to the team and identifies retraining needs.

  • Maintains a detailed record of each training session.

  • Manages competency assessment and skill checklist.

  • Development of general AR policies and procedures as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

  • Three or more years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle, preferably in behavioral health.

  • Must by subject matter expert in ATB work, denials, correspondence, cash posting, and billing.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time sensitive deadlines and organize workload with limited supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and leadership skills, as well as experience in public speaking, teaching, adult learning principles and conflict resolution.

  • Must be detailed oriented and thorough with excellent organizational skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products and ability to learn other applications proficiently.

  • Required to have CRCR HFMA certification within 90 days of start date.
