We are currently expanding our management team and are looking for proven technology leaders with experience in people management, strong technical acumen, and the vision to take Amazon Dedicated Cloud to the next level.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements.

A day in the life
AWS is a fast-paced environment where we “Work Hard, Have Fun, Make History.” On a “typical” day you will meet with the stakeholders to intake, define, or execute on programs you are responsible for delivering. This included working with Engineers, TPMs, and other Managers to create technical solutions to complex issues created by deploying software into a network isolated cloud environment. While delivering results matters, your number one priority as a manager is to your engineers. Developing their careers and technical abilities is paramount to being a successful manager at Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
- Participating in design reviews to identify and mitigate operational risk. You work closely with Software Development and Site-Reliability teams to improve the change management life-cycle.
- Drive teams to improve operational efficiency for all services through root-cause and trend analysis through development of SLA, metrics, monitors, procedures, tools, and documentation.
- Draft strategies that adapt and scale the business for an exponentially-growing customer-base.
- Play a significant role in hiring, developing, and promoting of engineers of varying technical levels and backgrounds.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field (e.g. Information Systems, IT Management, Systems Engineering, Computer Science), or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience managing system and/or software teams
- 4+ years of experience developing project schedules, charters, and execution plans
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Project Mgmt Experience leveraging AGILE, SCRUM, KANBAN, or KAIZEN
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including Technical Writing
- Experience hiring, developing, and promoting technical team with varying technical levels and backgrounds.
