As a Director of Strategic Sourcing, Indirect, you will be responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships by bringing deep category and industry expertise, continuously driving process improvements and working closely with cross-functional teams and business leaders to develop and implement global spend strategies across Technology, including Digital and Revenue Generation, and Supply Chain. This role may also support Professional Services/Contingent Workforce, and Travel & Expense categories.
You will leverage your experience to deliver significant value to key stakeholders by managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process to support IT, Digital, Supply Chain, and Warehousing functions, as well as the Professional Services/Contingent Workforce and Travel & Expense stakeholder teams. The Director will closely partner with the Strategic Sourcing Process and Technology team and the Accounts Payable team to continuously improve and deliver a detailed Source to Pay user experience for the end-users.
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, this role is focused on positioning our organization as a trusted partner to our internal clients to increase spend under management, standardize and streamline processes, and implement strategic sourcing strategies that deliver tangible value to the business while increasing internal customer satisfaction. The leader is responsible for leading teams of category managers to carry over $1B+ in annual spend across multiple categories such as Supply Chain (e.g. Logistics, Distribution Centers & Warehousing, Air/Ocean Freight), IT (e.g. Software/SaaS/PaaS/Cloud, Hardware, IT Services, Network, Telecom, and Cybersecurity; or Core Applications including Data and Analytics), Digital (e.g. Revenue Generation, Payments, Alternative Payments), Professional Services/Contingent Workforce (e.g. Professional Services/Consulting, Managed/Outsourced Provider (MSP/OSP), and Staffing Agency), and Travel & Expense categories.
The Director must be able to use experiences to deliver significant value to key stakeholders in strategic planning, category management, risk assessment, spend analysis, price, and contract negotiations. In addition, you will:
- Develop and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and be recognized as a valued partner, and influence business decisions through demonstration of strategic mindset and deep sourcing process and category expertise.
- Collaborate annually with the business unit and Finance on strategic cost savings targets and project plans.
- Continually improve supplier performance through effective contracts and supplier performance management methodologies.
- Achieve year-over-year improvements in Indirect spend, focusing on quality and service.
- In partnership with department subject matter experts, create and execute RFPs as needed.
- Strategize across categories/departments to identify opportunities for gained efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in supplier negotiations.
- Conduct all phases in developing complex contracts, including drafting statements of work, request for proposal creation, and contract evaluation and negotiations.
- Build project plans and timelines to ensure key milestones are being captured and met as it relates to the sourcing process.
- Effectively communicate status updates to key stakeholders, including timely identification and escalation/resolution of issues.
