The Role:
The Associate Director, Integration Lead will serve as the strategic and operational leader for Moderna’s enterprise integration landscape. This role goes beyond solution engineering to encompass platform ownership, governance, and leadership of the integration platform, ensuring it evolves with business needs and industry best practices.
As the platform leader, you will define the long-term strategy, technical architecture, and roadmap, while also ensuring high-quality delivery of integration solutions. You will manage a team of engineers, oversee partner/vendor relationships, and collaborate with stakeholders to maximize the platform’s value to the enterprise.
This role is ideal for a leader with a strong technical background, proven people management skills, and a track record of platform stewardship, project execution, and continuous improvement in complex enterprise environments.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Platform Ownership & Strategy
Serve as integration platform owner, overseeing administration, governance, and day-to-day operations.
Define and lead the platform’s vision, long-term goals, architecture, and roadmap, aligned to Moderna’s business and IT strategy.
Ensure scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement of the integration ecosystem.
Leadership & People Management
Manage and develop a high-performing team of integration engineers.
Set clear goals, define roles, provide mentorship, and deliver regular performance feedback.
Foster a collaborative, agile culture focused on excellence and growth.
Project & Delivery Oversight
Oversee integration projects using Agile methodologies; manage sprints, resourcing, timelines, and blockers.
Prioritize tasks based on business urgency and dependencies.
Review and sign off on critical deliverables, ensuring integrations meet quality, security, and compliance standards.
Run regular retrospectives to drive learning and process improvements.
Stakeholder, Partner & Vendor Management
Act as primary liaison with business stakeholders, building strong relationships and translating needs into technical solutions.
Hold regular office hours and forums to enhance transparency and collaboration.
Manage external partners and vendors, including contracts, renewals, SLAs, and accountability.
Partner with Finance to plan and manage the platform’s budget.
Subject Matter Expertise & Innovation
Act as an integration SME, removing technical blockers, developing POCs, and delivering demos to showcase platform capabilities.
Stay current with trends in integration, iPaaS, AI tools, and cloud technologies.
Champion new solutions that enhance speed, scalability, and business value.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all integrations comply with regulatory and security standards (e.g., GDPR, GxP).
Maintain comprehensive platform and integration documentation

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Requirements):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in enterprise system integration, with at least 5 years in a leadership/platform ownership role.
Deep expertise with one or more leading integration platforms (Boomi strongly preferred; Mulesoft, SnapLogic, Workato, Informatica also valued).
Strong grasp of integration patterns (pub-sub, hub-spoke, API-led, event-driven).
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Cloud infrastructure experience (preferably AWS) and enterprise application knowledge (SAP, Workday, Veeva, MES, Salesforce, LIMS).
Proven people leadership: career development, mentorship, and team performance management.
Solid project/program management skills with Agile delivery experience.
Strong background in stakeholder management, vendor oversight, and budget planning.
Proficiency in programming/scripting (Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python, Shell).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
