The Media Production department is composed of two distinct majors: Media Production and Entrepreneurship and Popular Culture and Media Production.

Job Description

Student will provide production and organizational support for NQSC production classes and production projects. 

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in the NQSC studio on the first floor. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Student will assist with monitoring the Qubein TV Studio and providing assistance to class productions.

  • Student will monitor studio production equipment according to a weekly schedule and report any issues to the Faculty Studio Managers.
  • Student will prepare graphic elements in the Ross Xpression CG for each Q News broadcast on Thursday of each week.  Elements must be prepared between Wednesday at noon and 2pm on Thursday of each week.
  • Student will prepare video clip elements in the Ross Xpression Clip Server for each Q News broadcast on Thursday of each week.  Elements must be prepared between Wednesday at noon and 2pm on Thursday of each week.
  • Student will prepare teleprompter scripts in the CueIt prompting computer for each Q News broadcast on Thursday of each week.  Scripts must be prepared between Wednesday at noon and 2pm on Thursday of each week.
  • Student will assist in studio productions as needed.  Studio productions may include class session or special events. 
  • Student may be asked to act as a Supervisor for independent student studio productions.

Required Qualifications:

Student should be self-motivated and demonstrate a working knowledge of multi-camera studio production. Student should have a working knowledge of the production equipment in the NQSC TV Studio and Control Room including studio cameras, control room equipment, and lighting equipment.  Student should be willing to address in discrepancies in their equipment knowledge.  Students must have completed the MPE2011 Multi-Camera Production course.
